Stella (Crowe) Young told stories of her childhood. This particular one is quite vivid. One day a rider came by and yelled, "the Indians are coming". It was winter time and very cold, but everyone hurried to the schoolhouse, which was the largest and strongest building in the community. It was partially a false alarm. A few Indians were found off the reservation but were quickly intercepted by the cavalry and taken back.
