Notes for Thomas Carter
Thomas Carter, was living in Watertown, Massachusetts before 1637. Mary’s first child was born early in August 1640 in Watertown. This place is Mary in Watertown by 1639. She probably arrived with her father and some of her siblings and this helps to date the arrival time of George and his family to 1638 or 1639.

Thomas was mentioned in Dedham church records as one of the elders of Watertown. He came to new England as early as 1635; was admitted freemen on 9 March 1636/37. He owned a homestead and farm in Watertown in 1642 and Was ordained the first Minister of Woburn on 22 November 1642. Thomas live the rest of his life in Boulder.
