Notes for Grosvenor “Grove” McGraw Wadman
Wadman, Grosvenor McGraw Of Sudbury, MA, died peacefully at Concord Health Care Center on December 31, 2013, from complications related to dementia. He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Sally (Bodge) Wadman. He was born in Brownsville, TX on October 1, 1930, to the late Eugene and Martha (McGraw) Wadman where they lived for 2 years before moving to central New York state for 5 years and then on to Newton, MA. Grove graduated from Newton High School in 1949 and continued his education at Hamilton College, Clinton, NY, graduating with a BA in History in 1953. He then served for 3 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and soon after re-met his bride-to-be in Auburndale, MA. Grove spent his entire career as a manufacturers' representative with Macdonald-Wadman Co., Inc. in Needham, MA, retiring at age 65. Grove was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening and especially fishing. He volunteered for many wildlife activities and conservation efforts. Grove received Volunteer of the Year Award from the Friends of Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. He spent many happy times fishing at Westport, MA, Lake Skaneateles, NY, and many other locations. He was a great family man who raised four children with his wife Sally: Erika Wadman of Auburndale, MA; Kristina (Wadman) Oswald & husband Robert of Canton, CT; Bruce Wadman & wife Shannon of Minneapolis, MN; and Sonja Wadman of Auburndale, MA. In addition to Sally, Grove is survived by his 4 grandchildren: April & Charlotte Oswald, and Ben & Martha Wadman; and his brother, John Wadman & wife Helen of Berkeley, CA, and nephew Michael Wadman of Brooklyn, NY.
