Pioneer Grain Dealer Dead PATRICK CROWE. PATRICK CROWE, PIONEER BUSINESS LEADER, IS DEAD Served as State Senator Before Moving to Denver From Leadville. Patrick Crowe, 75 years old, president of the Ady & Crowe Mercantile company and a prominent Denver business leader, died at his home, 1112 Adams street, early Wednesday of a heart attack. Mr. Crowe had been ill for the last three months. Born in Ireland, Mr. Crowe came to the United States in 1879 and first settled at Leadville, Colo., where he engaged in the feed business and also was interested in mining with Samuel D. Nicholson, John F. Campion and George F. Campion. While in Leadville he took an active part in politics and was elected senator from Lake and Park county and served in the eleventh and twelfth general assemblies. He was a member of the city council and was police magistrate in Leadville before moving to Denver. In 1899 he moved to Denver, and with his partner, George E. Ady, organized the Ady & Crowe Mercantile company, which is one of the largest concerns of its kind in the middle west. Mr. Crowe was a member of the first board of directors of the Capitol Life Insurance company and at the time of his death was vice president of that organization. Mr. Crowe was a member of the Leadville chapter of Elks and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by three children-Helen, Ruth and Patrick F. Crowe-and three nephews-James, J. E. and J. P. Crowe, all of Denver. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Horan & Son mortuary.
