MARCIA FUNK Obituary
MARCIA FUNK MARCH 29, 1953-AUG. 9, 2023 Marcia Anne Funk was born March 29, 1953, in Friend, Nebraska. She passed away at home on the Funk farm near Homewood, Kansas, on Aug. 9, 2023. Her main caregiver was her husband Fred Funk for the past three years of her life. From the end of January 2023 to her death, she was also given special care from numerous caregivers of Crossroads Hospice in Lenexa, Kansas, at her home. Marcia lobbied the California State Legislature in Sacramento as a pioneer in MADD and was successful in getting blood alcohol legislation passed to a lower level for DUI arrests. She was always an advocate for the "underdog!" Marcia was an excellent clothes designer and tailor, having shops in Carson City, Nevada, and Ottawa, Kansas. She grew up in Santa Monica, California, and many classmates of Santa Monica High School still hold her in high regard to this day. Marcia bore two children, Danielle and Ashley, by Dan Dauenhauer, in Sacramento, California. She married Fred Funk on Nov. 12, 1998, in Reno, Nevada, while living in Carson City then moved to the Funk farm ВЅ mile south of Homewood in 2002. Marcia was a loyal, loving wife to Fred for nearly 25 years and now missed by Fred and Gizmo, her faithful canine companion.
