Notes for Rodney Knox Johnson M.D.
SSN-430-92-0047

1920 CENSUS shows he lived on Connecticut St. in Crete, NE. and was 33 yrs old. He was employed as an auditor for the Crete Mills.

Rodney received a BS from Nebraska Wesleyan about 1908 and attended the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Michigan about 1924. He completed his medical degree requirements at Hauhamann Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Homeopathy degree.
Dr. Rodney Knox Johnson went to Friend, Nebraska in 1927 to begin his medical practice, and retired in 1953.
He was a colorful and strong personality with very positive ideas. He lived at 419 Pine St, Friend, Nebraska, and his office was next door to the north. He practiced in a time great poverty and was often called upon to trade medical care for homegrown or homemade products. He didn't get rich from medicine and cared greatly for his patients. A significant inheritance from the sale of the Crete Mills allowed him to retire in the style he envisioned.
He was a Major in the army medical corps in WWII and served at Fort Roots, Arkansas.
After his retirement in 1953, Doctor and Dolly (Mary Louise) moved to a farm near Beaverfork Lake, north of Conway, Arkansas. He built a custom retirement home and started a tree farm.
His primary hobby was retriever training. His Black Laborador Retreiver, Gunner, won many championships for many years.

Lois Johnson lived in Ann Arbor 1921 to 1927
