GEORGE, who (his father declining the honour) was elevated to the peerage of Ireland, by privy seal, dated at St. James's 12th of March, 1715, and by patent, 9th of May, following, by the title of BARON CARBERY, of Carbery, in the county of Cork, with remainder, in default of male issue, to the heirs male of his father. This nobleman was grand uncle of the present Lord Carbery, whose branch of the family assumed in addition to the name of EVANS, that of FREKE. (See Burke's Peerage and Baronetage.) 205
