OBITUARY:
Fred C. Johnson Passes Away
The sudden death of Fred C. Johnson, at his home east of Lincoln, Sunday, was a sad shock to his many friends here. He had gone to the engine house, Sunday evening, to start his engine and, when Mrs. Johnson failed to hear it start, she investigated and discovered him unconscious. Assistance was summoned and the Lincoln firemen responded with an inhalator but he could not be revived. Heart trouble, with which he was suffering, was the cause of his death. Mr. Johnson was born and grew to manhood in Valparaiso, moving to Lincoln some eighteen years ago and he built up a large dairy business there. Funeral services were held in Bethany Wednesday morning and in Valparaiso in the afternoon. Rev. Hugh Lomax officiated at both services. Burial was in the Valparaiso Cemetery and the final rites were in charge of the Cotner Masonic lodge of which he was a member.
